Women into research

Women into Research is a network of female researchers from all subject disciplines across the University. Evolving from the success of previous years and supporting our gender equality agenda, Women into Research supports and facilitates female academics to realise their full potential and ambitions.

Women into Research provides a series of networking opportunities, workshops and seminars specifically designed to explore facilitators and barriers associated with women pursuing research careers in their specialist disciplines and concentrates on the practicalities of balancing research with other academic and life duties and commitments.
The programme explores the research process from 'start to finish', using 'successful stories' and role models to demonstrate how research-active academics can succeed in balancing the many competing demands, while reaching their full potential and achieving a successful academic career. Consideration of personal, intersubjective, institutional and external effects on women researchers will be addressed.
Feedback and data from these sessions will be gathered and used to understand how, where and by whom facilitators can be improved, and we will also explore how the University can best support these developments.

The new programme is due to start in October 2018
